ProDens is Zenith Alloys' precision-manufactured manganese tetroxide (Mn₃O₄) based weighting agent, engineered for high-density drilling and cementing fluid applications — including HPHT wells, narrow mud-weight-window operations, and deep directional drilling programmes.

Unlike barite and other conventional weighting materials, ProDens particles are produced in their final spherical form. They are not milled or ground at any stage of production. This means every particle retains a near-perfect spherical morphology — eliminating the jagged edges that cause abrasion on pump components, bit nozzles, and drill string, and delivering measurably better flow behaviour and suspension stability in the fluid column.

 

Manufactured using carefully designed processes and after addition of specialised additives, ProDens achieves the highest density of any Mn3O4 based weighting agent available world-wide.

 

Why operators and drilling fluid companies specify ProDens:

• Spherical morphology — Particles form as spheres and remain as spheres. No post-production grinding means no jagged fracture surfaces, no elevated abrasion, and no compromise to PSD consistency across batches.

• High specific gravity, narrow PSD — Grade O-5 achieves 4.80–5.0 g/cc at 3–5 microns average particle size. Regular Grade delivers 4.68–4.80 g/cc at 3.5 microns. Both grades are tightly controlled batch to batch.

• Acid soluble — ProDens dissolves readily in HCl/HF acid systems. This is a decisive advantage over barite in formations where clean-up and completion efficiency are critical — barite residue does not dissolve and permanently impairs permeability.

• Ultra-low moisture — Below 0.25%, preventing caking, ensuring free-flowing handling, and maintaining blend consistency in mud mixing operations.
